Why we exist
Hawkins Recruitment and Careers exists to fill two gaping holes that are both costing businesses great staff and hindering individuals finding fulfilling and sustainable work.
Recruitment
Recruitment services are more often than not, limited to large business with large budgets. Or out of necessity, those businesses who are externally funded and running on a shoestring, outsource Recruitment. They rack up budgets in the red and pressures that eventually amount to service cuts. It does not need to be this way.
Hawkins partners with businesses to help source great candidates with a Recruitment process that works and a fee structure that is sustainable, across all levels. We want to see the ‘Purpose Economy’ grow, with more businesses and staff undertaking more meaningful work to create more positive impact.
Careers
Careers services are currently either high executive coaching for professionals, or free employment services for folks who are obliged to look for work. With little in the gap between, Hawkins aims to helps ordinary folks access great employability and Careers services that they can engage with for as long as they need to achieve the personal goals they have.
Meet Jacob
Unlike most Recruiters, Jacob found Recruitment through a genuine philanthropic desire which eventually manifested into Hawkins Recruitment & Careers.
“I began my career in this industry volunteering for a charity in the UK delivering employability support to homeless individuals. After 4 months volunteering I found myself heading up a youth employment and education service before becoming a Disability Employment Consultant.
A flair for the Recruitment side led to Medical Recruitment and I worked hard to become very successful in filling Emergency Departments with great staff who were well taken care of, to be able to offer exceptional care themselves.
5 years on and after becoming a father, I found myself reflecting on the reason I turned to the employment industry in the first place. Appreciating that great work really does matter and with the know how to align people with roles that give them and their employer the brightest future, Hawkins Recruitment and Careers was born.
I believe in it so much, I put my door on the name (that’s the saying, right?)”
